Deliver Me Oh Jesus…

I decided to join up with Kelly again to do another SQT’s blog! Click here!

I often pray the Litany of Humility prayer because let’s face it…I need it!! If you are not familiar with it…this is a beautiful prayer to help us replace pride with humility.  I will put the prayer below and I got it straight from the Laudate app but you could easily search the internet to find it .

I decided to do my SQT’s post on a more specific Litany prayer that I probably should also pray …

Oh Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Hear me

1. From the desire of drinking coffee creamer (specifically, almond creamer loaded with SUGAR aka the WORST thing you can possibly have in the 21st century)

Deliver me, O Jesus

2. From the desire of going on Amazon and ordering things we don’t actually need , (I’m talking to you , potty training watch, which is essentially just a timer on a wrist..because we both know it’s not going to magically help my child to be potty trained) (AND you only have 3 stars…lame)

3. From the desire of wanting to NAP with the CAT (that IS what they mean when they say “catnap”),

4 .From the desire of losing my cool and screaming like a lunatic because my kids are all wanting my attention at the same time OR because I didn’t drink enough caffeine yet to deal with them because I tried drinking some pea protein crap instead of almond creamer in my coffee and then I had to dump it out,

It’s in small print ….pea protein…what was I thinking??

5.  From the desire of not wanting to work on the same two pages in our reading program AGAIN.

Deliver me, O Jesus .

6.   From the desire of going on social media and then remembering I didnt make dinner, workout, or shower in 3 days but apparently everyone else did,

Deliver me, O Jesus .

7 .   From the desire of continually  nagging my hardworking husband!, (but if the dishwasher would actually WASH dishes….just sayin’).  😂 We go thru ALOT of dishes….

Deliver me, O Jesus.

Thanks for reading!! ❤️

Here is the actual prayer 🙏

Litany of Humility
Post-communion Group –

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being honored, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being praised, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being approved, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected, Deliver me, O Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it
